About Our Staff


Dr. M’Elizabeth R. Maatta has been honored with the Audiologist of the Year award from the Kansas Speech Hearing Language Association. She has been working with people with hearing loss for 30 years. Dr. Maatta purchased the practice, Audiology Associates from Dr. Gray in July of 2004. She is board certified in Audiology. Dr. Maatta joined Audiology Associates in 1995, after working as an audiologist for Menninger’s in Topeka, from 1985 until they closed the department of Communicative Disorders. Dr. Maatta completed her doctorate in 2002 through the school of audiology at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She received her MA from Northwestern (Chicago) and her BA and BS from Ithaca College, (upstate New York). She has a strong background in sign language, interpreting, and Deafness, as well as her experience in aural rehabilitation with the hearing impaired. Dr. Maatta has worked with the Sertoma Hearing Aid Recycling program since 1985, maintaining the hearing aid bank. Current research interests include improving classroom acoustics, providing relief from dizziness, and state of the art hearing instrument fitting.

1158_cheryl87.jpgCheryl Law joined Audiology Associates in May of 2004 as office manager. Hard working and determined, she moved to Manhattan after a career in law enforcement in the city of Chicago. Cheryl will greet you with a smile. She is fascinated by the ins and outs of medical billing and coding. She is continuing her education in this field and we hope you will provide her with greater experience by visiting Audiology Associates for hearing health care services.

Mary Ann D. Gray has worked providing speech and language services at Audiology Associates from 1979 to her retirement in May of this year. A pragmatist, she worked to help the individual experience communicative success at home, at work, and at play. Mrs. Gray has moved with Dr Gray to a log cabin on a lake in Bimdji Minnesota.

Dr. Thomas F. Gray retired June 30, 2004 from private practice after 25 years at the Manhattan Medical Center. He has provided hearing, speech, aural-rehabilitation, and communication services to adults and children for over 30 years. He was instrumental in assuring licensing for audiologists and speech patholgists in the state of Kansas. His audiology license was #0001. He and Mrs. Gray have moved to Minnesota where he enjoys fishing and providng the finishing carpentry on their log home.You must read and accept the following to enter our website.
